However, the Rhodium plating on Sterling Silver keeps it long-lasting from this oxidation process. You can take steps to maintain your Sterling Silver jewellery lasting for long!
a) Avoid contact with substances containing sulphur such as eggs, mustard, onions, mayo, latex, wool, sulphur-dyed fabrics, sulphate-based shampoos, wood, cardboard and smoke�because it causes tarnishing.
b) Wipe sterling silver jewellery with a special silver polishing cloth or a soft lint-free cloth to clean.
c) Avoid exposure to chlorine/pools, hot tubs, spas, saltwater/ocean.
d) Avoid direct contact with perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, sanitizers & household cleaning products as they can damage the plating.
e) Occasionally clean sterling silver with warm water & mild soap. Rinse & pat dry with a soft cloth.
f) Take off jewellery before going to bed to prevent the breakage of delicate parts.
g) Store airtight in a sealed pouch/ box away from sulphur odours when not in use.
